It’s that time of year again! On Saturday, September 30, The Shoppes at Piedmont will once again be offering a little taste of Bavaria with their free Oktoberfest celebration. Open to adults 21 and over, this beloved German tradition has something for everyone to enjoy.

From a great selection of brews and food to awesome live music performed by Lincoln’s own Less Talk More Polka, this year’s festival is not one to be missed. Be sure to get out your dirndls and lederhosens and mark your calendars now. Prost!

Wieviel kostet ein Bier? (How much is a beer?)

If you’re looking to celebrate the German way, tickets range from $20-30, depending on the package you opt for: basic or VIP. The basic package ($20) includes two drink tickets, which are good for any local or domestic brews at the festival. Upgrading to the VIP package ($30) will get you three drink tickets, which can be used on local, domestic or imported German beers. Extra drink tickets are $5 each.

Regardless of which package you choose, you’ll receive an authentic bubble-glass beer stein to take home with you! However, quantities are limited, so be sure to arrive on time to claim yours.

Welches Beir haben Sie? (What kind of beer do they have?)

There will be a varied selection of brews to choose from at this year’s Oktoberfest. Starting with domestic, attendees can select from Zipline Brewing Co., White Elm Brewing Co., Glacial Till Vineyard and Winery, Empyrean Brewing Co., Samuel Adams and Lagunitas Brewing Co., just to name a few.

Those who are looking for a more authentic Oktoberfest experience can opt for one of the VIP German imports, which include Ayinger, Paulaner and Hacker Pschorr.
