There aren't many changes to the GMC in 2021, but you'll still find much to enjoy across the lineup. If you are considering getting the GMC Terrain, two trim levels that make an excellent choice are the Terrain SLE and the Terrain Denali. The GMC Terrain SLE, which is the second trim from the base level, is eligible for several exceptional packages. Both have some overlapping amenities, while the GMC Terrain Denali adds even more luxury items, safety features, and performance capabilities.

Performance

The GMC Terrain SLE trim level is powered by a gasoline turbo engine with a power output of 170 HP. It comes with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The second engine available for the GMC Terrain Denali is a four-cylinder engine capable of a greater power output that reaches 252 HP. The second engine also has an automatic transmission. With either engine, the GMC Terrain has a maximum towing capacity of 1,500 pounds.

Appearance

HID headlamps are standard on the GMC Terrain SLE trim level. The GMC Terrain Denali is configured with LED headlights that have a signature C-shape design exclusive to GMC. Roof rails are also standard with both trim levels. The SLE starts with 17-inch wheels, while you will get larger 19-inch wheels with the Terrain Denali that can be finished in various styles. An acoustic laminated windshield is a highlight of both trims. Body-colored door handles are standard on the GMC Terrain Terrain SLE, while the Terrain Denali has black mirror caps for a distinctive design. A chrome grille is available for the SLE and included with the Denali.

Features

The 2021 GMC Terrain SLE trim level has a standard seven-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The Terrain SLE also has a six-speaker audio system. Push-button start and keyless entry are both included on this trim. Several packages are available to enhance the Terrain SLE, including additional USB charge ports in the back row, heated seats, remote start, an HD rearview camera, and dual-zone climate control. With the GMC Terrain Denali, you'll get the contents of these packages as a standard feature. The Terrain Denali also upgrades to a larger touchscreen system with an 8-inch display screen. A heated steering wheel is also added to Terrain Denali's list of standard items, and it comes with a sunroof. More safety technology comes with the Terrain Denali as well.
