GMC Acadia Exterior

What is the GMC Acadia Maintenance Schedule?

No matter what model year and trim you drive of the GMC Acadia, your SUV will need to visit our service center periodically for service and maintenance. The most accurate GMC Acadia maintenance schedule can be found in your car's manual, which comes with the vehicle and may also be available online. GMC Acadia service intervals generally begin with a thorough maintenance at 15,000 miles. After that, the Acadia will need to visit us for service at every 15,000 or 30,000 miles. Maintaining your Acadia is critical for optimal performance and ensuring the car stays in good shape throughout your car ownership.

15,000-Mile Service

When the GMC Acadia reaches 15,000 miles, you'll need to schedule an initial full-service appointment with our factory-trained GMC technicians. The Acadia may have the tires rotated if recommended at that point for your particular model. The engine oil is checked for level and quality. The oil's life percentage is checked, and a mechanic will change your car's engine filter as well. The engine filter is changed about every 15,000 or every four years, whichever is sooner.

30,000-Mile Service

If your Acadia has an automatic transmission, it will have the transmission fluid flushed and replaced at 30,000 miles. The spark plugs are inspected as well, and they are replaced if they are wearing down. Some services are reserved for particular drivetrains or driving conditions. If you drive in severe conditions or have all-wheel drive, for instance, your car will need some additional services at 15,000 miles, including new transfer case fluid. The evaporative control system gets a visual inspection. Our mechanics also look at the GMC's accessory drive belts in the engine.

60,000-Mile Service

The GMC Acadia adds some more items to its service list for 60,000 miles. This service point brings a multi-point vehicle inspection that includes an analysis of the belts, hoses, brakes, and tires. The exterior headlights and rear lights are inspected for safety and visibility. The fluid levels are inspected for quality and level. A mechanic also looks under the hood to check the battery for signs that it is wearing out and needs replacement. The brakes get examined as well for safety.

90,000-Mile Service

When the Acadia reaches 90,000 miles, it gets the spark plugs replaced if they haven't been serviced yet. A mechanic will probably flush all the fluid levels, including the engine and transmission fluids, and the engine coolant is drained and filled.
