What's New for the 2020 GMC Terrain?

The GMC Terrain is a popular crossover SUV model manufactured by General Motors. The 2020 Terrain is a part of the second-generation Terrain that was first introduced with the 2018 model year. There are few changes for 2020.

The 2018 GMC Terrain received a complete redesign of the exterior and major updates to the available technology and comfort of the interior. With that being said, 2019 and 2020 models received no notable changes to the style. The 2020 Terrain made some of their Pro safety technology standard for all Terrain trims.

What are the GMC Terrain Trims & Features?

The trim levels for the 2020 GMC Terrain include the SL, SLE, SLT, and Denali trims. The SL is the base model trim and features all GMC Terrain standard equipment. GMC Pro Safety now comes standard on all Terrain models. The SLE and SLT trims include HID headlights and a leather-wrapped steering system along with a ton of optional features. The 2020 GMC Terrain Denali trim is the most high-end trim level this model has. The Denali trim comes with premium suspension that is exclusive to Denali trim-level vehicles. This trim also provides standard front and rear parking assistance. All Terrain models except the SL, feature a traction selection system and all-wheel drive.

Raw Power and Stellar Performance

2020 GMC TerrainUnfortunately, GMC did not bring back the diesel engine model for the 2020 model year Terrain. The diesel engine brought tremendous fuel economy but the GMC Terrain still maintains tremendous fuel economy without it. The SLE and SLT trims feature a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbo engine capable of producing up to 170 horsepower, which is a decent amount for comparable mid-level trims in its class. The 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine averages 26 city/30 highway miles per gallon. The Denali trim gets a powerful upgrade to the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces an impressive 252 horsepower but still maintains decent fuel economy by averaging 22 city/28 highway miles per gallon.

Packed with Safety Features

2020 GMC TerrainThe 2020 GMC Terrain's low-level trims now feature the GMC Pro Safety technology as standard equipment. These technologies include automatic emergency braking, collision alerts, follow distance indicators, lane departure warnings and assistance, automatic pedestrian braking, and more. All models feature rear and forward cameras for reversing, adaptive cruise control, and more.

Overall, the GMC Terrain has proven itself to be a safe reliable vehicle regardless of which trim level you choose. To inquire about the GMC Terrain, please contact us, or visit us at Husker GMC at 6833 Telluride Dr, Lincoln, NE 68521.
