What's New For the 2021 GMC Canyon?
For the 2021 model year, an all-new Canyon AT4 has hit the lineup. This rugged trim is specially designed for drivers who desire a more capable off-road machine. It adds a set of 31-inch off-road tires, a more rugged suspension, and heavy-duty skid plates. Meanwhile, a new grille design bolsters the appearance of the luxurious Denali trim.
2021 Canyon Trims & Features
The base Canyon Elevation Standard is a serious bang for the buck. It comes loaded with many attractive features. Technology lovers will especially appreciate its 7.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone support. Meanwhile, a locking tailgate enables you to keep your cargo secure.
If you desire a few more amenities, step up to the Elevation trim. A 4G Wi-Fi hotspot allows you to connect to the web throughout the day. You'll also receive an upgraded 8.0-inch touchscreen and a tilt/telescoping steering wheel.
When checking out the all-new AT4 trim is similarly equipped, you'll immediately notice its more adventurous appearance. Hill descent control gives you more security when traveling on challenging trails. Heated seats also come standard.
Atop the lineup sits the Canyon Denali. It's geared toward drivers who demand pure luxury. A leather-trimmed interior and heated/ventilated front seats help set it apart. Technology upgrades include a seven-speaker Bose sound system, a high-definition rearview camera, and wireless smartphone charging. To give the truck's exterior an upscale look, GMC equips it with an exclusive set of 20-inch alloy wheels.

2020 GMC Canyon Horsepower
The new Canyon gives you three different engines to choose from. An efficient four-cylinder engine with 200 horsepower comes standard. If you need more muscle, opt for the brawny 3.6L V6 engine. It kicks out an impressive 308 horsepower. A versatile Duramax diesel engine is also available, which produces a formidable 369 lb-ft of torque. For the GMC Canyon Elevation Standard, Elevation and AT4, a 6-speed automatic transmission comes as the standard drivetrain. An 8-speed automatic transmission is available for these trims, where it comes standard on the GMC Canyon Denali.
GMC Canyon Safety
GMC designed the new Canyon to deliver a safe driving experience. If you happen to encounter a problem while on the road, you can use the available OnStar system to contact emergency personnel. Teen Driver technology is standard across the lineup. Featuring Forward Collision Alert and Lane Departure Alert, the optional Driver Alert package further helps you to avoid danger.
