Specs at a Glance

The 2027 GMC Terrain is a highly recommended small SUV. You'll love its family-friendly interior, advanced tech features, and bold truck-inspired styling. When shopping for a new Terrain, some people will be deciding between the AT4 and Denali trim levels. Here's an overview of how these two trims compare.

Performance

These trims come equipped with the same modern powertrain. Motivation comes from a 1.5-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder engine rated at 175 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. An available factory-installed Trailering Package enables you to tow up to 1,500 pounds.

Although both trims come standard with all-wheel drive, the trail-ready AT4 trim adds a Terrain mode for enhanced off-road capability. Some of the AT4 trim's other adventurous upgrades include a front skid plate, steel underbody shield, and all-terrain tires. While the AT4 trim's off-road suspension with a factory lift is great for exploring the rough backcountry, the Denali trim features a premium suspension that delivers enhanced ride comfort.

Appearance

The Terrain AT4 has an undeniably rugged appearance. Its bold front fascia features a unique darkened grille and red recovery hooks. Exclusive 17-inch dark machined aluminum wheels further differentiate the AT4 trim. GMC offers this adventurous trim in six exterior colors, including Volcanic Red Tintcoat and Ebony Twilight Metallic.

GMC designed the Denali trim to have an especially upscale appearance. Its sophisticated animated LED headlamps and taillamps perform custom startup and shutdown light sequences. An exclusive signature chrome grille and unique 19-inch alloy wheels also help the Denali trim make a bold statement.

Features

Several rewarding features come equipped on the Terrain AT4. Its Premium GMC Infotainment System boasts a 15.0-inch diagonal touchscreen with Google built-in. Meanwhile, premium heated front seats and dual-zone automatic climate control enhance comfort. Just a few of the SUV's standard safety technologies include Blind Zone Steering Assist, Forward Collision Alert with Automatic Emergency Braking, and Rear Cross Traffic Braking. Other standard equipment includes a wireless smartphone charger, a hands-free power liftgate, remote engine start, and an 11.0-inch digital gauge cluster.

The Denali trim brings an elevated level of luxury. While ventilated front seats make summer road trips more relaxing, an HD Surround Vision Camera provides multiple views for parking. Heated rear seats, Rear Pedestrian Alert, and Traffic Sign Recognition are also included.
