What's New for the 2018 GMC Terrain?

In the small SUV category, the GMC Terrain shines among its competitors. With the 2018 model, GMC redesigned the look of the vehicle to look sleeker and fit more into the mold of the small SUV category. Into the new model year, GMC gave the Terrain three different turbocharged 4-cylinder engines, including the GM's newly introduced first diesel option in their SUVs.

The new 2018 GMC Terrain is available to consumers in several trim packages, each fit to the needs of specific customers. Available trim options are the SL package, SLE package, SLT package and GMC's always luxurious Denali package. Most of the available trim packages come with the option of either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

The 2018 GMC Terrain shines on the exterior when traveling down the road with its C-shaped front and rear headlamps that include LED lighting and beautiful spectrum of available colors. On the interior, the 2018 Terrain features aluminum trim and soft-touch materials to enhance the look and feel inside the cab of the vehicle. An electronic shifter eliminates a manual shift stick and enables more room for the driver. An available 8" Infotainment system allows the driver access to their phone screen, phone compatibility with both Apple and Android products, navigation and up-to-date traffic alerts. A backup camera also comes on when the vehicle is put in reverse to enable the vehicle to safely maneuver around objects. An available 4G Wifi hotspot enables passengers in the Terrain to get connected while riding, freeing up their data usage from their personal phone plans.

The 2018 GMC Terrain is available in a few sub-packages that can meet specific needs of drivers. The Hit the Road package adds a roof rack and assist steps to the Terrain. The Advanced Safety package brings automatic parking assist and surround vision to the vehicle. The Comfort package adds ventilated front seats and heated rear passenger seats to the mix. Finally, the Infotainment package features the Bose premium 7-speaker system and HD radio to the vehicles entertainment options.

2018 GMC Terrain Horsepower

2018 GMC Terrain SeatsThe 2018 GMC Terrain comes available in three options for engines. The 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder turbo option packs a 170 horsepower, 203 foot-pounds of torque punch. The 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder turbo engine steps it up to 252 horsepower and 260 foot-pounds of torque. The new 1.6-liter, 4-cylinder turbo diesel option comes in at 137 horsepower with 240 foot-pounds of torque.


2018 GMC Terrain ExteriorThe 2018 GMC Terrain features impressive safety features. Behind the wheel, drivers can benefit from side blind zone alert for lane changes, rear parking assist, lane keep assist with lane departure warning and low speed forward automatic braking. The forward collision alert system can recognize an unavoidable crash quickly and alert the driver with both sound and visual alerts. As always, GMC has an available OnStar plan for its drivers of the 2018 Terrain which allows access to OnStar Navigation, roadside assistance, automatic crash response and remote door unlock for the owner.
