Specs at a Glance

The 2022 GMC Yukon is one of America's most rewarding full-size SUVs. Not only can the truck-based Yukon comfortably carry around multiple passengers, but it's also muscular enough to tow a sizable load. With the arrival of a standard digital gauge cluster and GMC's new Google-powered infotainment system, this vehicle is now even harder to beat. Let's find out how the SLE trim compares to the AT4 trim.

Performance

These Yukon trims come equipped with a robust 5.3-liter V8 engine. It punches out a healthy 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. An even stronger 6.2-liter V8 engine is on the AT4 trim's list of options. Output rises to a formidable 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. While the Yukon SLE offers an optional 4WD system, this feature comes standard on the adventurous Yukon AT4. Drivers who like to venture through the rough backcountry will find the Yukon AT4 to be more suitable. Just a few of its off-road-ready features include hill descent control, skid plates, and a Magnetic Ride Control suspension.

Appearance

Even the entry-level SLE trim has a striking look. Stylish 18-inch alloy wheels with dark gray metallic accents come standard. While LED exterior lights enhance visibility at night, the assist steps help passengers climb inside. Expect the Yukon AT4 to have a more rugged exterior. You'll immediately notice red tow hooks and a performance front skid plate. Exclusive 20-inch alloy wheels with all-terrain tires further distinguish the AT4 trim.

Features

The Yukon SLE packs a lot of technology. Its new Google-powered infotainment system features a 10.2-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration. A newly standard digital gauge cluster makes the SLE trim more appealing. Other key features include an HD Rear Vision camera, a 4G Wi-Fi hotspot, and tri-zone automatic climate control. A standard GMC Pro Safety package equips the SUV with today's hottest safety technologies.

More amenities are found inside the AT4 trim. Heated/ventilated front seats and heated second-row seats take comfort to the next stage. Music fans will especially enjoy rocking out to the nine-speaker Bose premium sound system. Other niceties include a heated steering wheel, wireless charging, and a hands-free power liftgate.
