Specs at a Glance
Designed with an extended wheelbase, the 2026 GMC Yukon XL is the perfect solution for drivers who need maximum passenger and cargo space. Not only does this versatile SUV offer great comfort, but it also delivers a powerful performance. When shopping for a new Yukon XL, some people will be deciding between the Elevation and AT4 Ultimate trim levels. Here's an overview of how these two trims compare.
Performance
The Elevation trim packs more than enough performance for your everyday driving needs. Under the hood sits a robust 5.3-liter V8 engine. It's rated to develop 335 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. While rear-wheel drive comes standard, you can opt for a four-wheel drive system. Like the rest of the lineup, the Elevation trim offers an optional Duramax diesel engine.
If you need an even more capable adventure machine, check out the Yukon XL AT4 Ultimate. Aside from a standard 4WD system, it also features other rugged upgrades. Highlights include a front skid plate, all-terrain tires, hill descent control, and an air suspension for enhanced ground clearance. GMC also equips the AT4 Ultimate trim with a larger 6.2-liter V8 engine. Output increases to 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. Along with the extra muscle comes a standard Max Trailering package.
Appearance
When driving the Yukon XL Elevation, you can expect to get plenty of attention. This trim's stylish exterior features animated LED daytime running lights and 20-inch machined wheels. There are multiple exterior colors to choose from, including Volcanic Red Tintcoat and Titanium Rush Metallic.
To help you clear off-road obstacles, GMC designs the AT4 Ultimate trim's front fascia to offer a higher approach angle. You'll also notice the red tow hooks and unique 20-inch wheels.
Features
Although the Elevation trim is the lineup's entry point, it does not shortchange you on standard equipment. Tech lovers will enjoy the Google-based infotainment system, which features a 16.8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration. Creature comforts, such as tri-zone automatic climate control and heated seats, add to this trim's value. A 10-speaker Bose premium sound system, a digital gauge cluster, and a suite of advanced safety features are also included.
The range-topping AT4 Ultimate trim receives some high-end upgrades. Massaging front seats and Super Cruise help make long road trips especially relaxing. Other features include a panoramic sunroof, a head-up display, and a rear entertainment system.
