2021 GMC Terrain

What's New For the 2021 GMC Terrain?

In 2021, the GMC Terrain gets some cosmetic updates and a new off-road trim called the AT4. HID headlamps, signature C-shaped lights with larger headlights, and a restyled front grille are some exterior changes for the Terrain across the lineup. Additional available features are offered by trim level, including roof rails and tires of various sizes. A choice of two engines provides just the right power for the Terrain, regardless of the trim you choose.

2021 Terrain Trims and Features

There are five trim levels available for the 2021 Terrain. The base trim, called the SL, has a seven-inch touchscreen with app connectivity, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Several safety features are also standard. Upgrading to the SLE offers more safety features and optional amenities, including a heated steering wheel and a power-operated front passenger seat. Following the SLE is the SLT, which upgrades to leather upholstery. This trim includes some features available on the SLE, such as dual-zone climate control, a power-operated driver's seat, and a larger eight-inch display screen. The Denali gets unique exterior styling elements and a custom interior trim design. It also adds a full suite of safety features, including a surround-view camera system. Adaptive cruise control is standard on the Denali. The AT4 gets better ground clearance and rugged off-road tires.

The 2021 GMC Terrain is available with two engines. The first engine, which is standard on the first three trim levels, is a 1.5L turbo engine. This engine creates a maximum of 170 HP. It also produces more than 200 LB-FT of torque. With the base engine, the Terrain has a maximum towing capability of 3,500 pounds. The alternative engine is a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine, which is available on other trims. This engine also has a towing capacity of 3,500 pounds. However, it produces a greater power output at 252 HP. A nine-speed transmission is standard for both engines. All-wheel drive is available.
