To give you satisfaction and peace of mind after purchasing a new car, GMC includes factory warranties for new vehicles leased or purchased in certain model years. The scope of coverage varies based on the model that you are driving and its warranty terms. However, coverage generally remains the same across the lineup. It includes coverage for your GMC's powertrain and battery, along with a Bumper-to-Bumper Warranty that provides comprehensive parts and components coverage.

Bumper-to-Bumper Limited Warranty

GMC's Bumper-to-Bumper Limited Warranty covers your entire car for the cost of repairs or parts replacement for original components that break within the first three years that you own the vehicle or the first 36,000 miles that you drive, whichever is first. The warranty covers the cost of repairing original parts that break, along with the cost of replacing defective components. The cost of towing is also included if your car cannot be driven. The warranty can be transferred to subsequent vehicle owners.

Powertrain Warranty

The Powertrain Warranty on your new GMC will cover costs associated with labor and repairs or replacement for original components in the car's powertrain within the first five years of vehicle ownership or the first 60,000 miles that you drive your vehicle. The warranty applies to Light-Duty trucks with a 3.0L diesel engine or Heavy Duty pickups with a 6.6L diesel engine. The engine, transmission, and transfer case are covered under this factory warranty.

Corrosion Protection

New GMC vehicles are also generally protected against rust and corrosion for up to three years or 36,000 miles. This warranty covers replacement costs for original factory-installed body panels and parts made of sheet metal damaged from corrosion while the warranty remains effective. Rust holes that develop in the sheet metal parts of your car or the body panels are covered for up to six years, or the first 100,000 miles you drive.

GMC MPP Plans

While it has generous factory warranties to start with, GMC offers extended vehicle protection coverage for owners who want an added layer of protection after buying a new GMC vehicle. This coverage is available at the time of new vehicle purchase. Husker GMC also offers extra protection plan packages called MPP plans. They include lease wear protection, GAP coverage, and extended service contracts. The plans are available for vehicles covered by factory warranties along with those that are older.
